DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – Today!

For sometime we have been hearing about the new team series set in the Arrow-verse, featuring characters from both Arrow and it’s spinoff, The Flash, plus “three never-before-seen-on-TV DC characters”.  News of casting has dripped out, and we now know who is on the team (or at least who will be on the show) and now we get our first look of (some of) them in action in this special teaser that the CW has put out, introducing DC’s Legends of Tomorrow!

If you haven’t watched the Arrow series finale, yet, you may want to check it out before watching the trailer.

The series looks to set up an ambitious story featuring Time Travel and and introduces the series Big Bad (if not the actor who will play him) Vandal Savage and we get to see what brings this group of unlikely group together, with lots of action, including a glimpse of Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée) in flight, And the Atom (Brandon Routh) finally lives up to his name!

Questions like what role the former (and deceased) Canary actress Caity Lotz would be playing are also answered.  But a few new ones are raised. How will Firestorm be part of the team, if Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) is not a regular on the show? How do Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) get talked on to the side of the angels?  What secrets is Time Master, Rip Hunter (Doctor Who’s Arthur Darvill) not telling? And what role will the unseen Jay Jackson (Franz Drameh) be playing?  And didn’t Ollie just say he’s done being the Arrow at the end of last week’s season finale?  How is he here (and back in green)?

Of course some of these questions may be answered in this week’s Flash finale, airing Tuesday May 19 on the CW, the rest will have to wait. The trailer features plenty of surprises, and few Easter Eggs for the eagle-eyed fans out there watching (with their fingers on the pause buttons).  They will have plenty of time to comb through the 3+ minute trailer, as the show will not premiere until 2016 on the CW.
