Entertainment Weekly continues to follow up on all things Comic Con in their latest issue, which a cover feature on the latest Marvel Mutant Mania – X-Men: Apocalypse.
The cover is the first official reveal of the movie’s big bad,En Sabah Nur a/k/a Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) alongside the master of all things metal, Magneto (Micheal Fassbender) and introduces Psylocke (Olivia Munn) in her first film appearance.
The story finds Magneto, Professor Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and the rest of the X-Men during the 1980s, as they each try make lives for themselves, and mutant-kind in their own way. It also reintroduces several characters but much younger than last we see them (at the end of Days of Future Past) Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Jean Grey (Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner), and Cyclops (Tye Sheridan). This film will also re-introduce us to Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McGee), Archangel (Ben Hardy), and other mutants who have appeared in earlier installments of the 15 year old film franchise, and a few who have never made the jump to film.
“This is kind of the introduction to them,” says director Bryan Singer in Entertainment Weekly, “At the same time, it has concluding aspects of those previous stories.”
