Micronauts and ROM the Spaceknight Return to Comics

IDW Chief Creative Officer/Editor-in-Chief Chris Ryall has long talked about his desire to add ROM the Spaceknight  and the Micronauts to the comic publisher, know for it’s quality licensed comics.  He would occasionally put images of ROM on his personal Tumblr. Now, after years of talks, IDW and Hasbro have come to terms and both properties are heading back to comics in 2016. The Micronauts were successful from Mego, who created the line by licensing several of Japanese toymaker Tanaka’s toy lines in 1976.  The line of interchangeable figures were popular, and ran until 1980, before finally running out of … Continue reading

Special Edition NYC 2015 Cosplay

This past weekend in New York City, ReedPop, the folks behind New York Comic Con, held their second annual Special Edition: NYC Comic Con, which gets back down to the source of it all – Comics! Let them come in not knowing and then let them walk into a comic store or up to someone’s booth, to people who will educate them, if they’re willing to learn. Superheroes and comics … Continue reading

NYCC 2014 – Day Four – Family, Friends, and Fun

Four days of nerdvana came to a close earlier today.  Comics, TV, movies, video games, cosplay and all sorts of fun was to be had, as over 100,000 fans came out for Family Day at New York Comic Con.     It was a low key day for me, after a late night out, celebrating friend of Geeksville Aleta Pardalis‘ second place finish in the TV and Film category in the Eastern Championships of Cosplay. Other than that, I spent a good portion of the day wheeling and dealing on the show floor, and I went home with plenty … Continue reading
