Up until now, the CW has focused on the lighter side of the super-heroics with its ad campaign for freshman series The Flash, catching arrows, and speed traps and the like. But the newest trailer which began airing this week focuses a bit more on the dangers of being the “Fastest Man Alive”, and along the way showcases some of the pretty cool speed effects, which, for a show about a super speedster, is pretty important. The CW network has revealed it’s fall line up for 2014. To no one’s surprised, joining the CW schedule is Arrow spin-off series The Flash, along with the DC/Vertigo inspired iZombie from Veronica Mars show runner Rob Thomas. I was cautiously optimistic when I heard they were introducing Barry Allen and the Flash to the Arrow-verse last year. The brightly colored Scarlet Speedster seemed so at odds with the dark and moody world of the hooded vigilante. But somehow they found an nice balance. The final week of DC’s relaunch number 1’s Sorry for the delay, It was a busy week last week. It was my birthday, and the finally of Doctor Who needed watching, plus playoff Baseball and College Football, I was pretty busy. So now all of the DC New 52 series are out. We do still have a JSA book coming (YES) and the Shade 12 issue maxi-series too (YES!). Also there are miniseries featuring the Huntress and the Ray on the way. Flashpoint #5 is now out, and so is Justice League #1. To celebrate, DC took over Midtown Comics’ west side location where lucky fans were able to purchase the books at midnight and meet writer Geoff Johns, and penciller Jim Lee. Over 700 fans lined up along West 40th street, between Seventh and Eight Avenues, just south of Times Square in New York City.
