Dave McKean and Dark Horse Comic Partner on Black Dog

Dark Horse Comics  and Dave McKean are partnering on a new graphic novel – Black Dog: The Dreams of Paul Nash, based on the life of surrealist painter Paul Nash. McKean’s last outing with Dark Horse, Pictures that Tick: Volume I and II, showcased the artists bold storytelling technique, mingling prose and art in a series of vignettes that worked independently. Black Dog seems to be a fully realized story from start to finish. Eisner Award Winners Named

The winners of the 2011 Eisner Awards were announced at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con.It was the 23 year that the Eisner Awards were given out. Awards were given in 28 categories. IDW Publishingwon a total of 5 awards of the 12 nominations it received, highlighted by Best Writer, Joe Hill for Locke & Key and Best Writer/Artist, Darwyn Cooke for Richard Stark’s Parker: The Outfit.
