Suicide-Squad-First-Look

This weekend, Warner Brothers had their panel at Comic Con, showcasing several of the major films they have coming in the next year or so, including several DC Comic projects.  The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer went live on youtube for the world to see. But the Suicide Squad first look didn’t. Of course it didn’t take long until some fan who used his phone to upload it to the internet. “We have no plans currently to release the Suicide Squad footage that leaked from Hall H on Saturday. It’s unfortunate and ultimately damaging that one individual … Continue reading

The CW’s Flash Is Up To Some Old Tricks – Mark Hamill to Guest Star as the Trickster

Mark Hamill as the Trickster

Just when you thought the CW hit series, The Flash, couldn’t get any cooler, this happens. The freshman superhero series announced today that Star Wars actor Mark Hamill will be appearing in an episode later this season.  He will be playing James Jesse, a/k/a the Trickster, a character he originally played back in 1990, on the previous Flash series. The Trickster will be “an anarchist terrorist con man serving a life sentence in Iron Heights who helps Barry (Grant Gustin) and Det. West (Jesse L. Martin) to foil … Continue reading

NYCC 2012 Day 4 – The Last Day, with Cosplay of the Day (of course)

Ah Sunday, that quiet restful day at the end of the week. Not at Comic Con!  Turn out look to be up on Sunday against last year, from my observation, with a lot of young kids and families on hand.  This makes me think a few things: Could NYCC be outgrowing the Jacob Javits Center? and if it is, where else in New York City could it move to?  Would it leave Manhattan? Would it go to Queens? or even (gasp) New Jersey? The economy, at least in the New York Metropolitan area, has improved somewhat, with what had to … Continue reading

Exile’s Read of the Week – 4/28/10 – Gotham City Sirens

GOTHAM CITY SIRENS #11 Story: Paul Dini Art: Andres Guinaldo, Paul Fernandez Cover: Guillem March Publisher:DC Can I just start by saying this book always has the sexist covers. Guillem March is the DC bad girl artist. That being said – the art team of Andres Guinaldo and Paul Fernandez do a great job with the interiors too. I had my doubts when this book started, from the title on down, but I didn’t have doubts about Paul Dini, and his ability to write for these characters that he clearly has such affection for. When writing a book that stars … Continue reading
