Day two at the 2013 New York Comic Con at the Javits Center on Manhattan’s west side was a long hard day for us here at Geeksville. After returning home after a great day one, Geeksville’s resident feline, Cat (yes we named him Cat) let us know in no uncertain terms that he was not well. So after some judicious googling it was decided we had to run to vet, stat. So at 4am we hopped Cat in a box, and headed down the 4 train to the Animal Medical Center on the Upper East Side. It was a good … Continue reading
It was a good day to be in Geeksville. Today, the BBC announced the discovery of 9 previously thought lost forever Doctor Who episodes from the Patrick Troughton era, The University of Michigan hockey season began with a win, and today was the first day of New York Comic Con. We have been busy outside of Geeksville recently. We apologize for the lack of updates lately. Saturday at Comic Con There is very little in life that can prepare you for a Saturday at Comic Con. Maybe a rush hour 4 train, when there is home game at Yankee Stadium, or Times Square at midnight on December 31st? Let’s just say it takes a bit of stamina to get through the day. What’s the highlight of the day, well attending the IDW Publishing panel, talking Doctor Who with Andy Diggle, the writer who has taken over the ongoing monthly, and finding out that they will also be doing a 12 issue special series. Doctor Who: Prisoners … Continue reading
There were lots of Green Lanterns out there at Comic con this year, and thanks to mediocre movie this summer, they are cheap to get. But it takes a real fan to pic a Lantern besides Hal, and I saw several Guy Gardners out there and John Stewarts (and of course you saw G’nort yesterday), But to do John Stewart as the Indigo Lantern from the recent War of the Green Lanterns story arc was a pretty cool, in fact, it’s my cosplay of the day!
