This past weekend in New York City, ReedPop, the folks behind New York Comic Con, held their second annual Special Edition: NYC Comic Con, which gets back down to the source of it all – Comics! There were no studios telling you about their latest theatrical releases, or television adaptions.  There were no video game demos, or large multi-platform media product launches.  It was just comics.  The people who make comics, getting together with the people who love them to talk about comics. DC Film Slate Announced at WB Investor Meeting, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and 2 Justice Leagues in the Works.

  Get your popcorn, and a really big drink, because there will be at least a dozen DC Entertainment movies between now and 2020.  Also coming are more Lego Movies, and three films in the Harry Potter spin-off series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Announced today to Warner Brother shareholders by WB CEO Kevin Tsujihara during the company’s shareholder meeting. 2 films a year, beginning in 2016 with Batman v. The Rock to Face Off Against Shazam as Black Adam

    We had been hearing for a while that wrestler turned actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would be staring in the upcoming and long rumored Shazam movie. “Just Say the Word” – The Rock Confirms Shazam

  After teasing the possibility for months, actor and former professional wrestler, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson announced he will be starring in Warner Brothers upcoming DC Entertainment flick based on Shazam, the world’s Mightiest Mortal.      He confirmed his involvement to AP while promoting Hercules in Mexico City this past Monday.  He has not yet confirmed which role he would be playing, that of superhero Shazam (formally known as Captain Marvel, until DC’s New 52 changed it) or that of Black Adam, the hero’s nemesis.  Shazam’s secret identity is Billy Batson, a 12 year old boy who is granted the … Continue reading

Warner Brothers Moves Batman v. Superman to March 26, 2016

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will now open on March 25, 2016 It was going to be the showdown of the comic book universes, but Variety has announced the change.  Warner Brothers had scheduled their superhero magnum opus, to open on May 6, 2016 (after moving it from a 2015 date, due to filming delays) before Marvel had announced which of its movies would also open that weekend (Disney/Marvel had a unnamed film scheduled for the day).  Marvel later announced that it would be the third Captain America movie.
