Star Trek Beyond Trailer Crashes Down on the Internet

Paramount Pictures has released the official version of the Star Trek Beyond trailer. You didn’t come here to just read about it, so here it is. Earlier today, the German language version of the trailer had leaked out to the internet, so Paramount went ahead and put the official one out, just days before it was slated to appear in theaters before the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens. (Which is also reported to have the first Captain America: Civil War, the third Batman v Superman, and an exclusive Deadpool trailer, attached to the IMAX version) This is certainly not … Continue reading

Star Trekkin’ in to a New Series (but not where you think)

This morning news broke out via Deadline that CBS was about to announce a new Star Trek TV series. Fans didn’t have to wait long, as the Tiffany Network just announced this afternoon  the first details about the developing series. The new, as yet in subtitled, Star Trek spin off is expected to premiere in January 2017.  It will even receive a special preview broadcast on the CBS Television Network (perhaps following a 2017 NFL Playoff game?). but after that, fans will have to look a little harder to find the show. It will move to CBS All Access, the … Continue reading

A Trekkie’s Take on Marvel’s New Star Wars Series

(If you search in Google for Marvels’ 2015 Star Wars, you will get many reviews of the new Star Wars comics.  Most of theses reviews are for the first issue or other individual floppies; this review is of the first six issues of the new Marvel Star Wars series.) I am Spock. Remembering Leonard Nimoy.

It is not often I am at a loss of words, but today I find myself dumbstruck by the news of Leonard Nimoy‘s passing. There will be those who express themselves better, but I would be remiss if I didn’t try to take a moment to recognize and honor this actor who created one of Pop Culture’s most famous characters, and one of my personal heroes, Star Trek’s Mr. Spock. Like many of my generation, I discovered Star Trek during its period of constant syndication during the 70’s.  It aired nightly at midnight, and I would sneak out of bed, … Continue reading

SDCC14 – IDW and BOOM TREK to the PLANET OF THE APES

Two of science fiction’s biggest franchises come together on the comic page next year, in what would be a Mystery Science Theatre 3000 dream come true, as the Enterprise crew find themselves in orbit over the Planet of the Apes. And it will be the original versions of both!   That’s right, Taylor, Nova, Cornelius, Dr. Zaius all will be meeting Spock, Sulu and Captain Kirk in all his Shatneress! FROM IDW San Diego, CA (July 25, 2014) – Have you ever wondered what it would be like to “mind-meld” with a sentient ape? Or wanted to see a Klingon on … Continue reading
