The Official SDCC15 Suicide Squad First Look released by WB

This weekend, Warner Brothers had their panel at Comic Con, showcasing several of the major films they have coming in the next year or so, including several DC Comic projects.  The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer went live on youtube for the world to see. But the Suicide Squad first look didn’t. Of course it didn’t take long until some fan who used his phone to upload it to the internet. “We have no plans currently to release the Suicide Squad footage that leaked from Hall H on Saturday. It’s unfortunate and ultimately damaging that one individual … Continue reading

This year Marvel passed on a presentation in the big room, so it’s WB/DC Entertainment’s turn in Hall H to wow the folks at San Diego Comic Con, and they didn’t hold anything back. The room was filled with anxious fans, whose appetite was whetted with looks at a couple of non-DC related projects first, The Man from U.N.C.L.E (starring Superman, himself, Henry Cavill as Napoleon Solo and Armie Hammer as Illya Kuryakin).  The presentation kicked off with a taped introduction by the always colorful and highly redacted director Guy Ritchie. Week 2 of the New 52 added 13 more new #1’s, and it was nice mix of characters who had title when the previous DCU ended in Flashpoint, and character that haven’t had a title in a while and few who have never had their own book. While there were several books I enjoyed. I was not quite as impressed with the overall selection this week as I was last time. Last week I put 8 of the 13 … Continue reading

The best of the Geektube this week… All in favor of giant ears?

This week saw the return of two big genre TV series, and set up a showdown for viewers on the night fewer people watch TV on than any other. And I don’t really watch either one of them.  So I don’t really care. That’s right, I am not a regular viewer of either FRINGE or SUPERNATURAL. I am a bad geek. Now please don’t take that as a rebuke of either show.  When I have on occasion caught them, I have enjoyed them.  Fringe needs a little more attention paid to it, because clearly there is a dense mythology, and … Continue reading
